CNN Week 7

1. The war in Iraq is finally coming to a close. The ten year war is scheduled to be over before the end of 2011. Forces are not cleaning up and preparing for the flight back to the states. Some are happy, that they finally get to come home to be with their families. Even though they will not make it back in time enough to celebrate Christmas with their families, thy are just glad to be able to come back home. A high school has allowed special education students become a part of their cheerleading squad. The special squad was created earlier this year to give those students a chance to feel like they are a part of the school and can be active in extracurricular activities.

2. A rover has been launched to mars. Astrologists believe that there either used to be life or there may be life on Mars. They believe that a river of water similar to earths once flowed on the surface. There is a definitive crack that looks to be a dried up river bed. This gives us the clue that life could be supported on Mars. While the rover has been launched it will take up to a month for the rover to actually land and start to collect data from the red, unknown planet.

3. A man has created a solar powered plane. The plane runs on solar panels placed on the top surface of the plane to gain energy throughout its flight. The external battery allows the plane to run on solar power it has acquired throughout the day for around half an hour. 1

CNN Week 6

1. Occupy Wall Street movement has grown to great heights. This is one of the biggest protests that the United States has ever seen. The hard thing about the protest is that there is no one leader. They are all leaders, and in addition we don’t know what their demands are. They are protesting against our government and our economic policy. Since they are unhappy with our government they have decided to camp out on Wall Street, the mecca of our economy.

2.The U.S is thinking about sending more troops to the country/continent of Australia. The conflict in Australia is causing America to enter into another war, just as we are about to end the one in Iraq by the end of the year. Occupy Wall Street protesters were forced out of a New York Park earlier this month. Police force the protesters to leave saying that they are not permitted to "camp out" in the park.

3.Finally, after almost 2 decades the NASA program has finally agreed to reopen its biggest tourist attraction. The site where numerous space shuttles were built has been reinstated to let people to visit again. Since the NASA space shuttle has been suspended, or ended they have decided to let people see what goes on in the building where the shuttles are being built.
